with the month as the title, a custom background, and at least three
"weird" holidays associated with each month (according to the 2007 calendar).
Please also have a picture with each holiday (3 internet pictures per slide) and fully animate each slide.

Week 8 (October 22-26)

*In order to grant college credit, we have to learn the alpha-numberic keys on the top of the keyboard.
*These consist of both the numbers and the characters. *It's your job this week to finish as many lessons of MicroType Numeric Keyboarding as possible.
*There are 16 lessons and they don't take as long as the letter-introduction lessons
*So, if you've already presented your Jeopardy presentation, happy typing!
*It's important you learn these alpha-numeric keys by touch, so no peeksies!!
*Have Schafer mark off your lessons as you go.

Thursday---CHOOSE PARTNER/INDIVIDUAL and decide on restaurant (including food type)
Work on logo/mantra
*Each group should have no more than 2 people
Friday---Questionnaire--10 multiple-choice questions-- (at least 4 choices per question)
This questionnaire will be filled out by members of the public to guide you in your business choices.
Example.......hours of operation.....music....environment.....location...etc.

Week 10-1st Quarter Grades (due November 9)

Monday---Finish questionnaire. E-mail to Schafer (matt_schafer@rsd.k12.or.us)
*remember, 10 questions, with check-off boxes, at least 4 options per question (40 points total)
*introduce micorosoft word "floor plan" requirments and demonstration.

Second Quarter


Week 11 (November 12-16)

Tuesday---Finish and submit floor plan and parking lot

Thursday---business cards in Publisher
Friday---Begin menu in publisher (in-restraunt edition)
*Menus must not be copied and must consist of original entrees with "vivid" descriptions and prices.
They should be organized as follows:
Appetizers (5 different) with detailed descriptions and prices
Main Entrees (3 categories consisting of 5 dishes each) Total: 15 dishes with detailed, delicious descriptions and prices
IE category 1--soups (with 5 different) category 2--salads (with 5 different) catory 3--meats (5 different)
Dessert (5 different) with detailed descriptions and prices
Drinks (5 different non-alcoholic) with prices and descriptions *pop is one drink, not 5!

Week 12 (November 19-23)

Monday---Create menu (see requirements for menu on Friday, Nov. 16)
Tuesday---work on menu Conferences (4:30-8:00)
Wednesday---Conferences (9-12:00)
Thursday---Thanksgiving Break

Week 13 (November 26-30)

Monday---Work on menus (Due Friday latest) worth 150 points (see below for point allottments
*Menus must not be copied and must consist of original entrees with "vivid" descriptions and prices.
They should be organized as follows:
  • Appetizers (5 different) with detailed descriptions and prices
    25 points
  • Main Entrees (3 categories consisting of 5 dishes each) Total: 15 dishes with detailed, delicious descriptions and prices
    75 points
    EXAMPLE:
  • category 1--soups (with 5 different)

    Week 14 (December 3-7)

    Monday---Brainstorm ideas for grand opening
    *put together a flyer (including coupon), with your name, logo, address, motto,
    picture of some sort, description of grand opening event (including dates, times, prizes)
    and a map if possible. It should be nicely, interestingly, and tantalizingly arranged.
    *You may use Word, PowerPoint, or any other program available to you.
    *It should be ready to put under someone's windshield wiper by tomorrow!
    Tuesday---Finish flyer
    Wednesday---Late Start--Share grand opening ideas with your group
    Thursday---Write a 1-page (single-spaced)2-column article in Word about your business opening.
    *It should be in 3rd person, and should be written as if for a newspaper. You can decide which.
    *It should have an extremely catchy title, and an author of note.
    *It should be a full page.
    *It should quote all owners as to their excitement and intent for the business.

    Remember, any of the common text commands must be used before and after the text to turn it on and off.

    pictures, etc. Make it look good!
    Finally, make sure all your added pages have links back to your main page.
